- Instagram is testing a new way for users to tag friends in video posts as opposed to just photos. The feature would work similarly to photo tagging where users can press a small icon on the video, but instead when you tap the button it links to a list of tagged people titled “People in this Video.” Instagram hasn’t shared very much info on the future of the test yet, but the test is underway with a small group of select users.
- Last week, plans for Instagram’s development of a standalone shopping app were making headlines. With over 25 million active Instagram business profiles and features such as shopping tags on Stories and in the feed, this next move makes perfect sense. Following the rollout of IGTV’s standalone app, will users really transition their shopping habits to another separate platform under the Instagram umbrella?
- Pinterest announced that it hit a new milestone of 250 million active users. What does the platform credit this milestone too? By continuing to be a platform based on positivity in a time where fake news and trust are key issues for other social media hubs. In recent months, Pinterest has moved away from the some of it’s more social aspects to focus on eCommerce.
