In the saturated world of social media, it can be challenging to keep a steady stream of thumb-stopping content ideas flowing. In order to make the biggest impact, it is crucial that branded social media content remains entertaining, informative, and fresh. If people are excited by your content, they are more likely to engage (or pull the trigger on a purchase).
Add these content tips to your social media toolkit and really amp up your branded social media content.
In the current social media climate, the audience wants to know more about the companies they are supporting. Showcasing employees and the people behind the brand can bring more personality to your feed and give fans a sneak peek into the brilliant minds that make up the brand team.
Similarly, social media is a great place to give your followers a glimpse behind the curtain. Instead of just showing them the finished product, consider giving them an inside look at the creative process or showing them something they wouldn’t normally see in a finished advertising campaign.
It’s no secret that video content is king on social media. Adding even simple movement (think cinemagraphs, GIFs, etc.) can catch the viewer’s attention as they scroll through their feed. Some areas to explore when creating video content for your brand are Stories, IGTV, YouTube pre-roll or long form content, live video, TikTok and Instagram Reels vertical video, and in-feed video on the platforms your audience is most interested in.
Live videos and streams in particular are an excellent way to connect with your fans in real time. This is a great way to facilitate interview-style content, create an “Ask the Expert” series, tease new products, support a big event, or stage a live tutorial to show your audience what services you offer.
For Stories content, utilize stickers and other native features to increase engagement and gamify each frame. Creating branded social media content featuring polls, questions, trivia, or “This or That” content will keep your audience entertained and keep the conversation going.
Infographic-style content can break up the feed, add color and other design elements, and highlight key takeaways for the audience in a visually striking way that is easy to digest. Each piece of social media content should add value in some way, whether that is information, entertainment, or another key brand objective.
If you’re looking to grow followers or reward existing ones, hosting a contest or giveaway on your social channels is a good way to do so. Boost engagement by asking fans to like, share, or comment. As a bonus, these posts are also a great way to promote new product launches.
Tap into the trend of repurposed Tweets and memes to create content that your fans can’t help but share and engage with. This less branded content will balance out your feed overall, resulting in the perfect mix of product-focused, lifestyle, design, and relatable content across the board.
Authenticity! Whether the brand look and feel is stylized or lived in, show the product in a way that is ultra-appealing to the audience. If your fans like a more raw approach, shoot the product in scenes that feel authentic and not overly curated. When it comes to lifestyle content with models, give the brand some personality by incorporating candid scenes and action imagery.
